Lomokev of Flickr and Lomography fame, invited Trevor to contribute two chapters to his new book. One chapter was light painting and the other was capturing star trails. The book is listed on with the American title available at amazon.com and the British title available at amazon.co.uk. The book will feature over 20 of our images. The book is a collection of 52 creative photography techniques and covers a huge variety ideas. The chapter on light painting offers a basic how-to and then details some tools and ideas on how to use them. Graphica and Fiz-iks have joined forces in hopes to produce some top class art. After a stopping by our exhibition in November, we agreed to a meeting at the Graphica office. Surprised by the fact that we create our images by hand with a variety of light sources and did not use and software, the owner offer us unlimited support. He expressed a wish to create a series of images in early 2010 that could be exhibited later in the year at a large gallery. The company currently imports professional audio and lighting equipment, offers programming for these devices, and also produces there own line of equipment under the name Versia. The event at maimai was a big success. Thanks to everyone that came by and to the DJs that provided the sounds. The creativity of the customers whom were all new to light painting was astounding. This brought a whole new level of inspiration to us at fiz-iks. We were so pleased with the event and cannot wait until we are invited to do one again. See the pictures in the gallery!
We did a dry run for the event on November 15th, this Sunday, to make sure everything would work as planned. The staff had a lot of fun playing with the lights. The magic of light painting was evident in their enthusiasm. We look forward to a great event. Here are a few shots of staff playing around.
